Sports Massage

Sports massage is a deep form of soft tissue massage that is individually tailored, following a completed body bio mechanical and postural assessment, then using specific techniques to relieve the stress, tension and fatigue that builds up as a result of occupational, recreational or sporting activities. It covers the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues of the body. e.g. Muscles, Tendons and Ligaments using a variety of treatments and techniques.

Perhaps the greatest benefit of a sports massage is that it consists of specific components designed to cut down on sports-related injuries. It specifically alleviates muscle tension and inflammation post-event, and provides a warm-up to loosen muscles for amateur and professional athletes pre-event.

One way to encourage muscle repair after training is with sports massage. Sports massage will help release any built up tension and lactic acid in the overworked muscles so that blood and oxygen can return to the muscle and effectively promote muscle repair. Sports massage, if received as part of a sports program, can help an athlete prevent injury due to overuse.

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage is deep tissue massage that efficiently treats injuries caused from over use or repetitive movements. It removes blockages and damaged cells, speeding up recovery and encouraging complete healing. Regular massage ensures that unnoticeably small injuries are treated before they develop into major problems, leading to a reduction in function of the muscle.

It effectively removes scar tissue remaining after old injuries, reducing the occurrence repeat injuries. Lack of blood supply to an area of the body is a significant cause of long-term pain. Lack of movement and incorrect use of muscles reduces oxygen supply, resulting in pain. Remedial Massage increases blood supply to soft tissue and helps to rebalance the muscles allowing more freedom of movement. It covers the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues of the body. E.g. Muscles, Tendons and Ligaments.
